David de Tscharner
Art Director, was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1979. He graduated from the art school, La Cambre, in Brussels and the Fine Arts School of Geneva, where he oriented his work towards sculpture and installation. David has participated in more than 30 exhibitions in Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Germany. His work is currently being represented by the gallery Synopsis M in Lausanne and Toxic in Luxembourg. David also regularly works as an assistant for exhibition installations (Wiels Contemporary Art Centre, Baronian-Francey Gallery, Barbara Gladstone Gallery…), as a journalist (Vice Magazine, Pure FM...) and a musician (David Ghetto, Jurassic Pump, les Fées du Logique…).

Virginie Samyn
Born in Brussels in 1977, Communication & Development Manager. A graduate in business management and communication from the Free University of Brussels, Virginie also studied medical therapy in Argentina. Upon graduation, she worked for the non-profit association “Les Petits Riens/Spullen Hulp” for 5 years, first as control manager and then as head of communication. Among other projects, she created and developed the reknowned fashion show “Second Hand, Second Life”, which she ran for 5 years on behalf of Les Petits Riens. Virginie now works as Chief Executive of a fair-trade craft company.  She joined the Code team in early January 2008.

Thomas Wyngaard
Co-founder and Graphic Designer, was born in Ottignies, Belgium in 1978. Thomas graduated from the department, “Creation of printed images and serigraphy” in Jean-Pierre Point’s workshop at the art school, La Cambre, in 2003 and specialized in graphic design. In 2006, after having worked as graphic designer for Roularta Media Group for one year, he founded his own graphic design & art direction agency named Codefrisko with Audrey Schayes. In 2007, Thomas studied at the Solvay Business School in Brussels.

Mariana Melo
Co-founder and Project Development Manager, was born in Lisbon in 1979. After graduating in photography from the Center of Art and Visual Communication “ AR.CO” in Lisbon in 1999, she studied in the department “Urban and Rural Spaces” at the art school La Cambre in Brussels. Her studies led her to question the relationships between art and the public and the role of art in daily life. She worked for several art galleries, among which the gallery “Usagexterne - for young creators”. She currently collaborates with the Foundation for the Arts in Brussels and the artists collective Mobile Institute and coordinates the Contemporary Art Award of the Ariane de Rothschild Foundation.

Devrim Bayar (2005-2009)
Editor in Chief, was born in Brussels in 1980. After studying psychology for two years and completing a BA in contemporary art history at the Free University of Brussels, Devrim Bayar studied at Columbia University, New York, for two years, where she completed a Master degree in Curatorial Studies. During her studies at Columbia, Devrim interned for 6 months in the curatorial department of the contemporary art center PS1, affiliated with the MOMA. Since the beginning of 2006, she has been appointed Assistant Curator at Wiels Center for Contemporary Art in Brussels. Devrim Bayar is the author of « Komar & Melamid, un art de la médiation », published in 2005 by La Lettre Volée in Brussels. She is also the author of a chapter in the catalogue “Processes of Destruction in the Arts”» co-produced by the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and the University of Arts in Bern.
